Mythical Beings is not a static collection—it is a never-ending expedition, a journey that continues to unfold, revealing new wonders with each step. Instead of being confined to a fixed number of creatures, Mythical Beings is an ongoing quest into the depths of myths, legends, and mystical beings.
Every few months, new creatures are sighted and added to the collection, expanding its universe and fueling the curiosity of collectors and explorers alike. These discoveries are grouped into thematic seasons, each uncovering different aspects of cryptozoology and cultures from around the world.
With each season, five to seven new cards emerge, bringing previously unexplored creatures to life and ensuring the collection never ceases to grow. What began in 2021 with just 30 cards has now expanded to 67, and the journey is far from over. With every passing season, Mythical Beings continues to evolve, weaving an ever-richer tapestry of mythical lore.
The Mythical DAO: The heart of the project
At the core of Mythical Beings lies its greatest force: the community. More than just collectors, they are explorers, storytellers, and guardians of mythological knowledge, organized through the Mythical DAO.
Like travelers gathered around an ancient campfire, DAO members meet regularly to share ideas, propose new directions for exploration, and decide the course of the next season. Here, the magic begins.
🔹 Thematic Proposals – Members propose themes for the next phase of exploration. Should the journey lead to lost gods? Oceanic spirits? Forgotten beasts of the desert? Each season starts with a vote, where the community chooses which path to take next. 🔹 The Search Begins – With a theme decided, the explorers of the DAO set out on their mission—delving into remote cultures, uncovering ancient legends, and bringing back stories that spark the imagination.

The Creative Process: From story to image
Not all mythical sightings make it into the final collection. Only the most compelling creatures—those with the strongest stories, cultural significance, and deep connections to the season’s theme—are chosen.
Once selected, these legends take shape through the hands of Ana Santiso, the artist behind Mythical Beings. With her brush and imagination, she breathes life into each creature, transforming ancient myths into stunning works of art.
